
President Samia Suluhu Hassan yesterday Sunday held talks with the Italian Ambassador to Tanzania, Giuseppe Sean Cappola, to discuss, among other things, attracting Italian investors in key sectors of the economy.
The Italian envoy led a delegation from his office to meet the Tanzanian Head of State in Dar es Salaam.
President Samia had the opportunity to duscuss existing investment uopportunities in the industriali sector with the director and owner of the Italian firm, Danieli Group, Giacomo Mareschi-Danieli.
Relations between Tanzania and Italy go back to more than 60 years following the estsblishment of a cooperation pact in 1965.
Father of the Nation, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere is credited to have spearheaded the establishment of the cooperation agreement a few years when Tanzania won independence from Britain.
