Chama Cha Mapinduzi Vice-Chairman in the Mainland, Abdurahman Kinana, has said that President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan and her government harbour no ill intention of selling Dar es Salaam port, ”and after all for whose interest?”

Kinana said this when addressing a mammoth rally at the Mkendo ground in Musoma municipality yesterday.

“I want to assure you that you should not believe that the President of the United Republic of Tanzania who took the oath of office would conduct any business having no bearing to the interests of the country.

“This cannot happen; since assuming the highest office on the land, the President has done so many good things… why should she sell the port? And for what reason?” Kinana queried as he addressed thousands of Musoma residents.

He continued: “And if you listen to the debate… you should listen it seriously and you have heard it for those of us who defend it, those who go against and those who criticise it.. There’s no one who says there should not be investment… all of them agree there is need for investment and that the goal is to increase efficiency and income generation.”

The CCM Vice-chair went on: “The government has said we’re going to do this work with good intentions of increasing efficiency and revenue so that we can undertake many development projects. People have come out questioning… there are those who question as patriots, we cannot say every person questioning has ill motives.”
