Tanzania signs accord with Hungary for bilateral relations

Tanzania and Hungary have signed an agreement to give scholarships to higher learning education students in the areas of science, technology, mathematics and engineering and for investment and trade.

The agreement was announced by President Samia Suluhu Hassan after holding talks with her guest, the Hungarian President, Her Excellency Katalin Novak at the State House in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

According to the agreement, some students from Hungary will be studying in Tanzania and vice versa.

For the beneficiaries of the scholarships, President Samia said girls will be given a priority to prepare them for future leadership positions, citing herself and her guest as exemplary of quality education for women.

On investment, President Samia said tourism is a fast-growing sector in Tanzania and requested the Hungarian President to be a goodwill ambassador to persuade investors in her country to venture into this lucrative business.

The Hungarian President is in Tanzania for a three day state visit.
