Police in the Tarime-Rorya Zone have confirmed that a 28-year-old Nyamwaga village resident, Jackson Nyamonge, who was found dead at North Mara Gold Mine, was among 11 people who intruded the mine on the midnight of February 12 to commit crime.
Tarime-Rorya Regional Police Commander, ACP Mark Njera, told journalists yesterday that police found the body of Nyamonge dumped at the fence of North Mara Gold Mine with two injuries on the chest and stomach.
He said investigations through use of North Mara Gold Mine CCTV cameras showed the body of the deceased had previously been carried away to unknown place by the intruders before it was returned and dumped along the fence of the mine an hour later.
ACP Njera said an autopsy by medical authorities confirmed that Nyamonge had died of profuse bleeding.
