President Samia Suluhu Hassan yesterday officially launched the Tanzania Development Vision (TDV) 2050, an ambitious blueprint whose thrust is to create a prosperous, equitable, and resilient nation that meets the needs of its burgeoning population and addresses the challenges of a changing world.

The TDV 2050 launch ceremony was held in the capital, Dodoma, and attended by high-ranking government officials, private sector executives and development partners, who included retired President Jakaya Kikwete.
The Vision outlines the countrys goals and the roadmap for achieving a prosperous, just, inclusive, and a self-reliant Tanzania.

It builds on the achievements and lessons drawn from the implementation of TDV 2025 and adapting to emerging global dynamics to position the country as a leading economic force in Africa and beyond.

Principally, the Visions focus rests on prosperity, equitability, and resiliency that meet the needs of Tanzanians, including and addressing the challenges of a changing world.

Launching the Vision, President Samia said Tanzanians have thought, planned and written their own economic blueprint, and the following step is implementation.

This step needs every citizen to work diligently, with utmost zeal and knowledge through unquestionable cooperation with the government, private sector and development partners, she said.

We should continue nurturing the existing peace, unity, solidarity and tranquillity to enable us attain the goals we have set ourselves.

She thanked all the people who contributed to the preparation and writing of the TDV 20250 to give it a national outlook. Youve played your part, she concluded.
