Tanzanian businessman Nyambari Nyangwine has donated Kiswahili textbooks to Rwanda's St. Marie Riene Secondary School as a gesture of promoting the widely spoken language in East and Central Africa.

"I'm happy that today morning I've donated Kiswahiili textbooks to a private school in Rwanda," Nyangwine told journalists after his assistants had handed-over the books on his behalf.

Nyangwine, a renowned Tanzanian author and publisher, said the textbooks will be for all students from Form One to Six.

"These books will help to promote the Kiswahili language to our Rwandan neighbours," the former parliamentarian of the Tanzanian ruling CCM party said.
