Famed author and publisher, Nyambari Chacha Nyangwine, has managed to jump the first hurdle in his determination to become the Tarime Rural Member of Parliament in this year's general election.

He is among the lucky five aspirants whose names were on Monday July 28 endorsed by the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi Central Committee which sat in the capital, Dodoma, to screen thousands of candidates nationwide seeking to enter parliament as representatives from constituencies and special seats.

Other candidates selected to compete with Nyangwine include outgoing incumbent legislator Mwita Waitara, Simon Kemor Chacha, Deodatus Waikama and Dr Edward Machage.

Nyangwinje is trying to make a political comeback in this year's general election as he occupied the same seat between 2010 and 2015 in Tarime Rural Constituency.

Mara region has 58 parliamentarian seekers in its ten constituencies as endorsed by the CCM policy-making body to undergo preliminary voting in their chosen areas.
