IGP Wambura transfers Regional Police Commanders

Minister for Water Jumaa Aweso has directed water experts in his ministry and the Mwanza Urban Water and Sanitation Authority (MWAUWASA) to work around the clock to ensure water is available in the crisis-hit burgeoning city and its surroundings.

The minister arrived in Mwanza this morning to inspect the reported looming water shortage in the lakeside city and to prepare urgent and concrete long-term plans to improve the situation.

He immediately inspected the Capripoint water pumping station and held discussions with the MWAUWASA top management before inspecting the available water services in the city.

A statement from the water ministry information unit said the aim of the meeting was also to discuss challenges in the provision of water services and improving supply for the area's population.

This afternoon, the minister is scheduled to visit the Butimba major water source.
