Mozambican President Daniel Chapo is in Tanzania for a three-day official visit aimed to strengthen the brotherly relations between the two countries.
A statement issued by the government communication unit in Dodoma yesterday Wednesday said President Chapo will on tomorrow Friday officially inaugurate the two-week 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF).
The DITF, celebrating its Golden Jubilee this year, is a high-impact trade show which brings together business leaders, investors, policy and decision makers to enhance trade cooperation among nations.
President Chapo is scheduled to hold talks with his Tanzanian counterpart, Samia Suluhu Hassan, on matters of bilateral cooperation between their two nations on key development sectors.
The itinerary of the Mozambican leader also includes a visit to Mama Maria Nyerere, the widow of the Father of the Nation, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere, to pay tribute to Tanzania's role in the liberation of Mozambique from Portuguese colonial rule.
This will be President Chapo's third visit to Tanzania since he was installed as Head of State of the southern Africa country in 2024.
Old guard Mozambican freedom fighters were trained in Tanzania during their independence struggle in the 1960s and 70s.
