For the first time in Tanzania’s history, President Samia Suluhu Hassan has invited the participation of the country’s diaspora at the two-day extraordinary CCM conference being held in the administrative capital, Dodoma, from May 29 to 30.

The diaspora at the ruling party’s highest meeting that draws membership from all regions of the country include UK-based Elizabeth Thomas Msabi.

The president’s extended invitation to the diaspora to take part in a major national event marks an inclusive historical occurrence in a nation that prides itself of being a haven of peace and tranquillity when it comes to managing the affairs of the state.

Elizabeth thanked President Samia for remembering and honouring Tanzanians living abroad to attend the Dodoma meeting which is globally seen as the embodiment of national unity as Tanzanians jump into another phase of political and socio-economic development.

“The respect given to us is not only an honour to us as individuals, but it is also a clear indication of valuing our contribution to the development of our nation. This gives us the spirit to come back and participate in the building of our nation,” Elizabeth said.

“We wholeheartedly thank President Samia for remembering Tanzanians living in foreign lands. This has given us the urge to come back home and help the Her Excellency the president and other Tanzanians in nation-building,” Elizabeth asserted in an interview.

The participation of the diaspora at the Dodoma CCM meeting is an indicator that Tanzania has consolidated the solidarity among its populace to attain inclusive development in the country under President Samia’s wise leadership, Elizabeth noted.
